They are a team of only 2 people, one doing the art and the other doing the programming, and one of them is doing the writing but I don't remember which one or if both are. Over the time they have been working on the game, they had to do the artwork, the coding, level design, bug fixing, writing, handling their own advertising of the game, patreon and subscribestar posts, manage the itch.io page and any other places they upload the game, all while early on trying to learn a game engine and now doing so again since switching to Godot but with an easier time.

They have admitted to having sloppy organization at the start, but they seem to have gotten their heads on straight and are actually getting somewhere. The devs also probably have jobs other than working on this game, which if they do means those jobs will eat into the time they can work on the game, not to mention other facets of living they likely have to deal with. They're not a company, they're indie devs making a furry platformer game with porn in it.
Hate to be THAT guy but aren't the guys making Kincaid literally just two people? Look how far they've come in nearly the same timespan

Ehh Kincaid is in a similar position imo, they're three nearly four years into development and by their initial estimates they're not even 30% done with the game, they're planning three planets and last I checked they're still on the first. They're starting to work on the enemies for planet 2 but we're still looking at another 6-8 years minimum for the full release.

They are a team of only 2 people...

I'm well aware of what effort is required to create a product: it's what I do professionally. I'm not suggesting we harangue the devs, but it's silly to brush off criticism of accomplishment vis-a-vis time. It's not arguable that they've been mostly standing in place for the past half of a decade, and people are literally paying them to accomplish milestones in a reasonable time frame. Having completed a single level six years ago and redoing it over and over and over while making minor adjustments with the repeated promise of, "This will make future dev easier...Ok, this will make future dev easier...actually THIS will make future dev easier," is not "reasonable" by any standard. Except the Patreon grifter standard, I suppose.

Not to mention that I can point you to any number of single or double person teams which have completed a game (sometimes more than one) in half that time, most with much more complexity than is displayed in Predation.

To sum up, I'm still looking forward to the finished project (in twenty years), but criticism of their stalled development is valid.

So don't pay them. I don't. The only reason I'm still following this game is because I loved what they had before, and I'm hoping someday it materializes. If they release something playable and it's good, I'll sub to their patreon or whatever. Until then, it's not a thing which exists, therefore there's no real reason to worry about it.

I don't, but others do. Leaving their payment services up and taking money from others is an implicit agreement to deliver, both the game and incremental versions demonstrating progress--within a reasonable timeline. They've failed to meet their end of the bargain, and thus it is still valid to criticize.

Honestly, I prefer to play good NSFW games. Carnal Instinct is good if you have a good-performing PC, Karryn's Prison is a fun RPGM game and that game is fully released you can make your own mods and put it at the Steam Workshop, and the game gets updates and some DLC, I don't know if they will make more, The Outcast Tribe is a new game that has an Orc Female Protagonist I will give that game some time to have new features, Azure Tales another new one I hope for the best on that dev, Succubus Hunt is another good game in development last update 0.61 added Alfa995's Doe into the game. I am pretty sure there are other good games compared to this that are still in development I have played Global Mutation the game is good but I will be waiting for updates and the development process with that game.

I certainly didn't expect to see Predation popping up on here. I figure, hey, might as well introduce myself, right?

I'm Sammy! Some people who follow the project a little closely might recognize me as a member they hired on recently, to handle all of the PR and bugtesting, though I expand a little further, from time to time. Recently, I've been helping the head with writing dialogue, which is pretty exciting.

Now, I know there are people here who are likely frustrated by the amount of time it has taken to get more content out. I am more than happy to come forward, and answer as many questions as I am able. The important part of a game isn't what we can do - it's how we measure up, according to our playerbase, our fans, and people who just whack it to our content, haha.

I'm not sure if I need to prove who I am, or whatever. If need be, I can post screenshots?
All the same, I'm here, and I'm ready to answer questions, or even just interact with all of you.

And, hey, as a bonus, here I am, in-game! I'm very happy to be "the towering figure".

I haven't personally played the game in awhile, but my take is thus: in a sea of rugpulls and shittily-managed furry game projects, it's just nice to see a developer stick with a project and be open with the community, even at the risk of criticism. Seeing new content posted here makes me want to download the latest build and see what's been improved!

I really do appreciate the kind words! Back when I had first heard of Predation and joined the server, I was already interacting with the community quite a bit. I later become a Moderator, where I was able to do more for the community I had been a part of.
Then, of course, I was put in the Public Relations seat. I know that, in the past, the team has struggled with keeping in touch with our playerbase. That's why the very first thing I decided to work towards was being open and communicative with you all. From the Discord, to Itch, Twitter, and even here, on F95. I don't want anyone to feel like they're unheard, or just waiting endlessly for any more content.

We wouldn't be where we are, without our community. The least we can do is interact with you.
